Day 7: Attitude

“People may hear your words, but they feel your attitude.”  – John Maxwell

“Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.  Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee.”

M46 Challenge:  Talk to your children about the importance of keeping their attitudes right.  Remind them that, if they don’t, they can find themselves saying something, or doing something they shouldn’t.

In our inherent imperfection, we don’t always maintain the most positive attitude or outlook – and sometimes our hearts can be hardened.  Do we recognize it in the moment?  Or, do we identify it as we reflect on the day and go to God in prayer?  Attitudes require active management and a heart of flesh to remain positive and right.

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, thank you for your patience and unwavering love especially when I didn’t keep my heart right towards you.  Help me to guard my heart, and to teach my daughter how to guard hers, as well.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Thoughts:  When our own attitude is off track, how can we teach by example?  Do we fight it alone, or go to Him to re-calibrate and refresh?

Coming up…a bit on social pressure.  Check out Proverbs 1:10.  See you then.

Keep it Lit,

T.
